Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms

Meminit is operated by Dohyun Kim (김도현), an individual developer based in the Republic of Korea, who can be reached at comgamemarre@gmail.com. These Terms form the agreement between you and us for your use of the Meminit app and website. By creating an account — including by continuing without an account as a guest — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use Meminit.

Who can use Meminit

You must be at least 14 years old to use Meminit. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, you may use Meminit only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. Meminit is not designed for children and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 14 to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 14 without their legal representative's consent, we will delete it and its data.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. A guest account is stored against a random identifier with no email attached, which means we have no way to restore it if you lose your device or sign out — add an email in Account settings if you want it to survive. Guest accounts that go unused for 60 days are deleted automatically, together with their data.

What Meminit is

Meminit is a private notebook for remembering the people you meet. You record names, details, family members and meeting notes; the app organises them and can remind you before an upcoming meeting. What you write is visible only inside your own account. Meminit is provided free of charge, and we may add, change or remove features over time.

Recording information about other people

Most of what you put into Meminit is information about other people, and those people are not our users. When you record information about someone, you undertake that: • you have a lawful reason to record it, and you record only what you genuinely need; • you will treat it with the discretion that person would expect, and will not use Meminit to build a profile of someone for a purpose they would object to; • you will not record special categories of information about them — health, religious or political beliefs, trade-union membership, sex life or sexual orientation, precise location, or a government identifier such as a passport or resident registration number; • you will correct or delete what you hold about someone if they ask you to. You remain responsible for the notes you write. If a person contacts us about information you hold about them, we may need to pass their request on to you, and we may remove content or close an account where the law or these Terms require it.

Content and conduct that is not allowed

You may not use Meminit to create, store or share content that: • sexually exploits or endangers a child, or depicts a minor in a sexualised way; • harasses, bullies, threatens or defames a person, or incites violence or hatred against a person or group; • is obscene or gratuitously violent; • impersonates someone, or presents information about a person in a way designed to deceive; • is intended to stalk, surveil, blackmail or intimidate someone, or to expose their private information without their consent; • infringes another person's intellectual property or other rights; • contains malware, or is used to probe, overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to Meminit or the services it runs on; • is unlawful under the law of the Republic of Korea or the law that applies to you. You also may not resell or sublicense Meminit, or use automated means to scrape or extract data from it. Breaking these rules may result in the content being removed and your account being suspended or closed.

Your share profile

Meminit lets you publish a profile of your own details and share it with a QR code or a link. This is the only part of Meminit visible to anyone other than you. You choose what it contains — your name only, selected details, or everything you have added — and you can reset the code at any time, which stops the old link working. Two things to understand before you share it. Anyone holding the link can open it, so treat it like the details on a business card rather than a secret. And when someone adds you, they receive a copy of the details you shared into their own account; that copy belongs to them, so resetting your code prevents new people from adding you but does not remove your details from anyone who already did. Publish only details about yourself. Do not use your share profile to publish information about anyone else.

Reporting, and what we do about it

If you come across something on Meminit that breaks these rules, tell us. Open Account, choose "Send feedback" and select "Safety concern", or email comgamemarre@gmail.com. Reports sent through the app reach us with the weekly summary each Sunday, so for anything urgent — and for anything involving a child's safety — please use email, which reaches us the same day. Meminit is run by one person. We do not pre-screen or scan what you write and there is no automated filtering; we act on the reports we receive. Where we confirm a violation we may remove the content, disable a share link, or suspend or close the account responsible, and we report to the authorities where the law requires it. We may also suspend an account where we reasonably believe that is necessary to protect someone or to comply with the law.

AI features

Meminit can use AI to turn what you write or say into structured details. We ask your permission before anything is sent, and you can withdraw it at any time in Account settings, which switches the AI features off and leaves the rest of the app working. AI output is generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or misleading. Check anything that matters before relying on it. Details of how this processing works, and where the content goes, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Feedback you send us

Feedback you send is held and delivered to the developer in a weekly summary each Sunday, and you can edit or withdraw it at any time before it is sent. Please do not include another person's personal details in feedback. If you suggest an improvement, you allow us to use it to improve Meminit without any obligation to you — we will not owe you a payment or a credit for an idea you send us.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, where it is stored, which providers process it on our behalf, and how to delete it. It forms part of these Terms.

Availability and changes to the service

Meminit is free and is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that your data will always sync. The app is built to keep working offline, but please do not rely on Meminit as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We may change, suspend or discontinue Meminit or any part of it. If we decide to stop the service, we will give reasonable notice in the app so you can record what you need. You can stop using Meminit at any time and delete your account and all of its data from the Account page.

Warranties and liability

To the extent the law allows, Meminit is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where it cannot lawfully be limited. In particular, we do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury, for fraud, or for our own intent or gross negligence — under Korean law a term attempting to do so is void in any event (약관의 규제에 관한 법률 제7조제1호). If you are a consumer, you keep every right that the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you, and nothing here removes those rights.

If you got Meminit from the App Store

The following also applies where you obtained Meminit from the Apple App Store. These Terms are concluded between you and us only, not with Apple, and we alone are responsible for Meminit and its content. Your licence is a non-transferable licence to use Meminit on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Meminit. If Meminit fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price if you paid one; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claims are our sole responsibility. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Meminit, and for the investigation, defence and settlement of any claim that Meminit infringes intellectual property rights. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using Meminit. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes may be brought before the courts of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts. Users in Korea may also seek help from the Korea Consumer Agency, or apply to the 개인정보 분쟁조정위원회 (1833-6972, www.kopico.go.kr) for a privacy-related dispute.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the date shown at the top of this page, and where a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Meminit after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account at any time from the Account page.
