What we collect
We collect your email address and name when you create an account. Guest mode collects no personal information about you at all — a random identifier is created instead, and you can add an email later to keep your data. We also store the information you choose to log about people you meet — including their names, attributes, family members, and meeting notes. You are responsible for recording information about other people lawfully and respectfully.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to provide the Meminit service — storing your contacts and generating AI-powered summaries from your meeting notes. We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising or profiling. To run the app we rely on a small number of service providers, listed under "Data storage" below, which handle your data on our behalf in order to provide the service rather than for purposes of their own. Separately, if you choose to share your own details by QR code or link, the details you selected are copied to the person you shared them with.
AI processing
When you log a meeting, the text or audio you provide is sent to a third-party AI service (Google Gemini) to extract structured information. We ask for your explicit permission before sending anything, and this content is processed only to provide the service — it is not used to train AI models. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Account settings, which turns the AI features off. You can also disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Account settings, which revokes and deletes the stored calendar tokens.
Feedback you send
If you send feedback, we store what you wrote along with the category you chose and the time you wrote it. Feedback is not sent immediately: it is held until the weekly digest, delivered to the developer by email each Sunday, and until it is sent you can edit or withdraw it at any time. Once a digest has gone out it cannot be recalled, the same as any sent email. We do not attach your notes, your saved people, or any technical diagnostics — only the text you typed. Deleting your Meminit data or your account also deletes any feedback still stored, though it cannot un-send a digest already delivered.
International data transfer
For AI processing, the note text or voice recording you submit (which may include information about people you describe) is transmitted to Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA, USA; googlekrsupport@google.com) for the purpose of extracting structured details. The content is processed for this purpose only and is not used to train Google's models. Under Google's paid-tier API terms it is logged for a limited period — up to 55 days — solely so Google can detect and prevent abuse of its service, and is then deleted. Transmission occurs when you use the AI features, after your explicit consent. You can stop it at any time by withdrawing AI consent in Account settings, which disables only the AI features; the rest of the app continues to work. Separately, if you send feedback, the text you wrote is transmitted to Plus Five Five, Inc. (operating as Resend; United States; support@resend.com), which delivers it by email to the developer. Resend uses Amazon Web Services, Inc. (United States) to send, and our sending region is Tokyo, Japan. Only the feedback text, its category and its timestamp are transferred, for the sole purpose of delivering it. Transmission occurs when the weekly digest is sent, which is why you can edit or withdraw feedback before then.
Calendar access
If you connect Google Calendar, or grant calendar permission on your phone, we read upcoming events only to match them to people you've saved and show meeting reminders within the app. Phone calendar events are read on your device, used only for matching, and are never stored on our servers or shared. You can revoke access at any time.
Sharing your own details
You can publish details about yourself and share them with a QR code or link. You choose the scope — your name only, selected details, or everything you have added — and only what you chose is ever shown. When someone adds you, they receive a copy of those details into their own account; that copy belongs to them and we cannot delete it for you. Resetting your code stops new people from adding you, but does not remove details from anyone who already did. We do not use any advertising, attribution, or device-fingerprinting service to link a scan to an app install — someone who scans your code is only ever matched to your details when they sign in to their own account.
Data storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase and served via Vercel; AI processing uses Google's Gemini API under its paid-tier terms, and feedback is delivered by email through Resend. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and each of these providers is contractually bound to protect your data to an equivalent standard. Data is retained until you delete it or your account. Guest accounts that have not been used for 60 days are automatically deleted along with all their data.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account page in the app ("Delete Account"). Deletion is immediate: your profile, saved people, meetings, notes, family members, feedback, and calendar connections are removed right away, and any connected Google Calendar access is revoked. Feedback already delivered in a weekly digest cannot be recalled, in the same way a sent email cannot.
